Valentine's Day cards are so much fun to make!  My aunt wanted a few simple cards to send out, so I made this!  The heart punch is from Martha Stewart, but the rest is Stampin' Up!
Here's what I used:
  • Love Blossoms Cardstock Pack-I used the Rose Red as my card base
  • Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper stack for the hearts
  • Very vanilla card front, cut to 5 x 3 3/4
  • Rose Red Ink pad
  • Whisper White Baker's twine
  • Sequins from Love Blossoms Embellishments Kit
  • Stamp from Bloomin' Love Photopolymer Stamp set
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
Its a fun and easy card to put together, and a great way to use up paper scraps! Pop up 2 of the hearts with Stampin' Dimensionals to add a little zing!

I got my inspiration for this card from the movie Up.  You know, the one with the old guy who attaches thousands of balloons to his house in order to make his deceased wife's wish of going to Paradise Falls true?  I always cry at the beginning.
Anyway....
Today's card is created with the Balloon Celebration stamp set, which is a new set from Stampin' Up!s Occasions catalog.  Here's what you'll need:
  • Whisper White card base
  • Soft Sky card front, cut to 5 1/4 x 4
  • Whisper White card front, cut to 5 x 3 3/4
  • Balloon Celebration stamp set and punch
  • Mambo Melon Ink pad
  • Bermuda Bay baker's twine
  • Scrap Whisper White to roll into the "note"
  • The sentiment is from an old stamp set, but the Greatest Greetings set from the Occasions catalog would go nicely with this!

You can get all the materials needed here!  Don't forget that its still Sale-A-Bration time, which means a free product for every $50 you spend!

I got started a wee bit late on our advent calendar this year, but I finally got it done!  This is a pretty easy to make craft, especially if you have the Bigz Scallop Envelope die! If you don't have the die (which goes with the Big Shot or other die cutting machine), I've linked the template here for you to print out and use!

Once you have the template in hand, its easy!  Just cut out 24 of the envelopes, punch out your numbers and backgrounds, embellish, and hang!  I got the little clothespins at Target in the dollar section!  Aren't they cute?  You could washi tape the clothespins if you wanted!

To make the "tree," find some festive heavy baker's twine and some clear tape.

Decorate the wall/tree however you want!  You could top the tree with a star, flower, or bow!  Easy peasy.  I have 2 Andes Mints in each envelope, one for each of my boys!  The envelopes work best with flat candy (not hershey's kisses) like Andes Mints or hard candy.

Do you do an Advent Tree or other holiday tradition?

11/19/2015 OSW part 2!

Whoever came up with the One Sheet Wonder deal is a genius.  Basically, you take a piece of nice looking paper (anything from a 6x6 to a 12x12) and cut it up in different ways.  Use the paper pieces to create different designs on your card bases.  Add your embellishments, stamp with a sentiment, and voila, instant and creative cards!

Since I was making cards to share during a SU workshop, I decided to use the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper, along with the corresponding card stock for the bases.  I love that SU gives you the option to buy the cardstock in smaller amount for the paper you are using!  The Merry Moments is a 12x12, so I decided to cut it to produce the following cards:

Basically, you have 4- 4x3 pieces, 4- 3x3 pieces, 1- 5x3 3/4 piece, 1-5x3 3/4 piece (cut diagonally), and 2-5x2 1/4 pieces.
The picture only shows some of the cards, since I used the backs as well.  These were demonstration cards, and I'm cheap lol.

If you'd like to know more about how I put these together, leave me a comment!  The OSW template is for my team members only, so if you like to craft, consider joining Stampin' Up!

Products can be found on my site here!

Happy Crafting!

11/18/2015 OSW part 1!

I recently decided to join Stampin' Up!.  I used to craft (mostly scrapbooking) and I wanted to get back into doing cards and whatnot.  Plus...Pinterest.  So many good ideas!  Sometimes I just can't believe how creative people are.

Several weeks ago, an opportunity to teach classes through my local school district's community program came up, and I decided to bite the bullet and teach the cardmaking class.  As if I didn't have enough to do already (well, not really...).  I decided to go with a holiday themed card session; after all, the holidays are nearly upon us!

Doing your own cards can be daunting, but never fear! My pinterest trail led me to something called a One Sheet Wonder (or OSW for short).  In essence, you use the same patterned paper, but cut the 12x12 paper up into different card "fronts" so that each card gets a little distinctive look of its own.  I'll take you through the card making process, but right now....I gotta clean up my dining room table.
